Rocking Rico's

So my first foodie blog.

No nonsense, I'll start right-a-way.

Looking for a place to hang out in Delhi isn't tough. The challenge is to find a better than the best place. I guess I found one.

Situated on the ever busy Hudson Lane in GTB nagar, Rico's is the so-not-fake cool place to hangout with your friends, with a pitcher of mojito and some great food to try out.

Out to find some new food, me and my friend decided to visit this place. It was crowded but we waited for just around 5 minutes. We visited at 2 in the afternoon. In the meanwhile, there was a wall full of heart shaped messages by the visitors at Rico's. We started to think within ourselves what to write on our way out. More on that later.

Now seated, going through the menu, we started looking out for things that will be fun to try.

Our first round of order included an Orange Mimosa (Rs. 85), Chicken Quesadilla (Rs. 180) and Fish n Chips (Rs. 225). The food arrived well in time - our tastebuds couldn't  have resisted more.

The fish was quite crisp on the outside and well flavoured, tender within. We had a white oregano-filled sauce along with it. The chips were quite fresh and crispy as well - way better than what Mc'D offers. I recommend this, but only if you prefer fish over chicken.

There were 6 pieces of Quesadilla along with mayonnaise, salsa sauce and another orange sauce (dont know what that one was). The chicken was quite juicy within and the wrap outside was quite fresh and soft. Highly recommended.

Before we were about to finish this all, we ordered the Chicken Peri Peri Pizza (Rs. 180), just to let our tastebuds not panic for that continuous supply of good food.

The pizza arrived within ten minutes. Thin crust, leaving a string of cheese when taken off plate and that melt in your mouth feeling that made it one of the best pizzas that I ever had. Take a bite and watch that iconic pizza cheese trail. I loved it. Recommended.

Towards the last we decided to have the XXL burger (Rs. 150), coz the description was too tempting - Double bonanza with a chicken n lamb patty in one. I was sure of the fantastic-ness of this one but I rather overestimated it. Served with fries again, this one can be skipped. But the melting cheese was a sight to watch when we pressed the burger from the top.

Just to end up the visit and to let this whole lot of food to be transported down the tummy, we decided to have Sex on the Beach - the drink (Rs. 85) and not the thing you might have thought by the sound of it.

The perfect end to a perfect lunch. The bill was a total of Rs. 1063 including all taxes. And we got those heart shaped tags :) "Our first food date. Love you Rico's just the way we love each other" reads our tag on the wall now.

The ambience is perfect but I am not sure what the problem was with the music there - We found love by Rihanna and Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana was all we heard for 1 hour. Try the book library at the end of the left section and let me know if there were any good reads ;)

Need I say more? Do visit this one and I am sure you'll love it.

PS: At 3, the waiting queue followed the staircase. So better be there on time.

Hopping to a new destination soon.
